Latest Ourplan Updates

creilly has sent you a group email from ourplan.kilkenny.ie.
We would like to introduce you to the new OurPlan blog. This blog will be
regularly updated by a variety of people over the course of the next two
years. We hope to provide useful insight, information and various
perspectives on the planning process. The first blog post is on the topic
of Universal Design and is written by the Councils’ Senior Planner, Denis
Malone. You can view and comment on this blog post here:

In relation to the closing date for submissions, we have had a number of
requests to extend this date. There are three stages in the preparation of
the Development Plans and we are currently in the pre-draft stage.

The 24th August is the cut-off for submissions to the pre-draft stage. In
law, the initial submissions period has to be minimum of 8 weeks long, and
this submissions period, which commenced on the 15th June, was 10 weeks
long.

After the 24th August, we are required by legislation to promptly prepare
a report on any submissions or observations received, and on the matters
arising out of any consultations. We have now entered statutory
timeframes, and in order that we have sufficient time to comprehensively
address all the issues raised, and prepare this report, we cannot extend
the submissions closing date.

However, there will be two further public consultation periods within the
whole process, and in addition, the Ourplan website will remain open for
further comments and contributions. Any comments made on the site after
the 24th August will be reviewed and taken into consideration during the
next (Draft) consultation period.
